In downtown historic Gulfport, near the water (not the horrid knot of chains and telephone wires on the highway nearby). Really enjoyed this place. Solid, laidback atmosphere, great friendly service, reasonably priced. Most of all — tasty. Not super creative, but really well executed. The chargrilled oysters were close to what you’d get in New Orleans at Drago’s or Felix or Acme and just $18 a dozen. My red fish with lump crab and shrimp and my wife’s grouper with shrimp (both under $20) were awesome, and the sides decent (fries, jalapeno hush puppies). The closest New Orleans equivalent would probably be Deanie’s (which I mean as a compliment).
A date night favorite with my wife! The oysters Orleans are chargrilled to perfection simmering in a fantastic Orleans sauce. The martinis are great & bartenders are always super nice. Gulfport location seems to have better environment and food than Biloxi location.
This is one of my favorite places to grab a seafood dinner when visiting Gulfport. My go-to sides are the sweet potatos brulee and the asparagus. They have a good hand with the seasoning on fish. Oyster martini is like a healthy meal. Service is great.
Lunch portions are small for $10 (mostly) price tag. Seafood pot pie was ok nothing special. Get schooled on what a pot pie is. Check out a Marie calendars in the grocery store. Flaky crust should be on bottom and top. Not piece of thick bread thing on top.
The atmosphere and service at this location have always been lovely. They are always polite and accommodating. The food is above average and the specials are consistently creative. I thoroughly enjoyed my Parm Encrusted Grouper over steamed spinach topped with beurre blanc. I could go there just for their oysters and royal reds as well. Great place for lunch or dinner!!
Should either change name or change chefs! The Royal reds were good! Their chargrilled oysters were either burnt beyond recognition or so tiny they looked like escargot. Ordered grouper special, worst ever, must have been Tilapia!! When walking to car after dinner, overheard a couple saying that they just had the worst meal ever!
We’ve have been coming here since it was the one and only. Consistent with consistent wait staff! Food is great and they take pride in the facility itself!
