This is a great place for takeout fried seafood, their shrimp is fresh, there’s a good assortment of fish to choose from and the prices are very reasonable. There are a few tables for eating in but the store front is very small. It looked clean as well. A good place to eat.Apparently there are new owners of Mama’s and the food has actually improved and some new offerings are on the menu such as grilled fish and seafood wraps, sandwiches, poboys, etc. for those who are health conscious. If you tried Mama’s in the last few years and were disappointed, I’d say try it again because it’s vastly improved. The new owners are friendly and accommodating as well.
Although the food was excellent, I did not have a good experience. i bought a large platter and two drinks and had spent just shy of $20. I was dining in and had used the ketchup she had given me and asked for some more, and she told me it was 5 a packet now. never hearing of having to buy condiments such as ketchup at a restaurant before, I asked her how many packets do they give before charging, then she said something under her breath and could only answer with that she had already given me some. although the food was good, I will not be going back there.
Pretty Darn Good. I eat there pretty frequently. Service is great….really nice people. It makes a difference when the owners cook and work the register. The food is very reasonably priced and the portions are substantial. The popcorn shrimp platter easily feeds two people. The grilled shrimp spinach wrap is awesome! Great food for the price!! The decor is lacking, but I don’t usually eat there.
