Newks is a regional chain high end deli. Several speciality salads, pizzas, soups and sandwiches. I appreciate the yumy dessert choices as well as the Pellegrino water and beer options. My fave is the chicken salad croissant– seriously, it’s the best– and the large rice krispie treats. Also, have a to-go pick up counter. If you want good, healthy options & don’t mind chain restaurants, its worth a try. I don’t do chains, but for me, this place is an exception.
They have or had one good thing on the menu, White BBQ Chicken Sandwich. It was the only reason why I would go to Newk’s everything else is just average way, way over-priced sandwiches. Then one day THEY STOPPED PUTTING BBQ on the WHITE BBQ CHICKEN SANDWICH. I asked the server why there was no sauce she said something akin to oh they cook the chicken in it now. Took a bite, nope absolutely no taste, not even a hint so I asked for a cup of sauce to put my own sauce on it and it made it ok. Leaving thinking this had to be some mistake, there is a group of new people or something. I returned a few weeks later and I received my sandwich with a hint of sauce on it like there was sauce at some point but someone laid a napkin on top of it and soaked it off like some people do greasy pizza. I was dumbfounded this can’t be real, asked for a side of sauce again and left in dismay haven’t been back since. I’ll give it a 2 because I use to like eating here and maybe at some point they’ll change back to the way it use to be but fool me twice shame on me and I will not be spending money here anymore.
