This is located in the cool, historic old downtown of Gulfport (not the horrible highway nearby, with all the cheesy, soulless chains). We wanted to go to the old Triplet Pharmacy for brunch but they were closed on Saturdays, so we randomly chose Port City Cafe across the street. Our expectations weren’t high, but we really enjoyed it. The service was sweet and warm and swift. The prices were downright low. I got the most expensive thing on the breakfast menu — the meat lovers omlet, which for $10 came with hash browns and a biscuit. The hash browns were potatoes with teh skin still on, diced a hair small for my taste, but decent and not oily. The biscuit was heavy and moist, though a little small. The omlet was very good. It had cheese, sausage, large pieces of sliced and grilled ham, and best of all chunks of pot roast. The pot roast inside was an awesome touch. My wife got a breakfast sandwich on Texas toast — eggs over easy and cheese and bacon, with a side of hash browns also. With our coffees (good and refilled many times) our bill was about $20 including a generous tip. So glad we found this place.

Dont bother. We stopped by for breakfast one Sunday. Ordered a cup of coffee and some water while deciding on our order. After the couple next to us sent their food back because it was cold and waiting at least 10 minutes for our coffee and water, we left. How long should that take – really? I would avoid this place, esp after ready reviews & similar complaints.

Go to the grocery.. We have been to the restaurant in Gulfport twice in the past couple weeks. Food is awesome and service is good. However, they seem to have a problem having adequate food. Each time we have been we have to listen to the poor waitress explain why they are out of something. FIX THIS.

We decided to try this place for a late Sunday breakfast around 11am. The place was not crowded and a simple order of omlets, eggs, and bacon took over 40 minutes to arrive. Only after about 30 minutes of waiting we were told there was no bacon and when the food came, the biscuits were missing. Unacceptable for food that takes 10 minutes tops to cook. Plus the food was bland and cold. Terrible, I wanted to get out of there as fast as I could.

Service was nice but they need to stop serving old food and trying to mask it as cooked to order. I do not think I will return, as this has obviously happened before.

Bland and disappointing. Stopped by because they announce the cafe numerous times at local hockey games so was driving by and was hungry stopped in to try it out. Wish I hadn’t food was bland and boring. Service was subpar and the owner was kind of a jerk. I swear I’ve seen the jerk of an owner more than a few times reloading his supplies at Sam’s.
