My last visit to White Cap was a bit disappointing. My Wife’s Shrimp and oyster plate contained 6 small oysters and six medium sized butterflied shrimp. For almost 22 dollars we expected more. The seafood platter (for the same price seems like a much better value. The oysters were good but the shrimp were tasteless. I had the Red fish Fort Bayou which was overcooked and way over seasoned. While I have been more than satisfied in the past with the stuffed whole flounder and Po-Boys the recent price increases and lack of consistency from the kitchen will keep me away for now.

Wife and I stopped in for lunch and had shrimp poboys. They were pretty good. The fries could of been fried twice, as they were soggy. The slaw was somewhat sweet but not what I usually like. Service was good on this visit.
Flavor is definitely not what I have learned to expect of seafood in the south. Very little crab in crab cakes. Creole shrimp tasted as if a can of tomato sauce was poured over pop corn shrimp. Gumbo while having a little flavor, the only seafood found was popcorn shrimp and crab shells. Nice touristy place for those one-time visitors interested in sustenance only.
We had a party of six. All from New Orleans so we know good seafood. Our food was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and delicious. Service was great and prices were reasonable. Beautiful view of the Gulf. What more can you ask of a restaurant. We loved the place and will be back. Mike
Stopped in by chance, just driving by. Busy with a large late lunch diners. The food was fresh and tasty. I ordered grilled oysters, they were well prepared and five more than advertised. My wife’s lunch menu of pasta and shrimp was s generous serving. I’d return for on evening meal.
The BEST bread pudding in the south!. I am a profession baker, I have made many versions of southern bread pudding yet I have never had such heavanly bread pudding as I did tonight at this quaint seafood restaurant. The texture of the soft, non chewy bread was the amazing. The caramel rum sauce is sweet & smooth. I will be dreaming of this till next time I visit.
