Vietnamese Po-Boys. Most wonderful flavors and inexpensive.
I purchased a shrimp po-boy on March 25,2015. I watched an employee microwave a small portion of shrimp. Then the shrimp was taken to the back and fried. The shrimp was brought back in a fried clump. I had already paid $8.50 for the 10” po-boy.I took the po-boy and left against my better judgment. When I opened the po-boy there were only 5 shrimp on it and the shrimp did not smell fresh. I threw the po-boy away. Better to throw away $8.50 than to get food poisoning.
I have reviewed Henry’s before and still love , but would like to add that their Vietnamese style po-boys are just great. Ate there again today and split two po-boys with a friend so we both got to try two…. just outstanding and healthy…. at the grand cost of $4.50 each. This just can’t be beat.27 Jun, 2012Great Vietnamese food and bakery. Ive been going to Hendys for years and, although the Vietnamese menu is limited, it is the best in this part of the world. The stock for the pho takes all night to make and the beef stew is sensational. They also make very good Vietnamese style po-boys at a very affordable price. There bread is crusty and the best on the Mississippi Coast and to make it even better they bake all day. This is a must try for all lovers of great French style bread and Vietnamese cuisine.
Decent but RUDE and CASH ONLY. New to area here and try to make it apoint to go to localy owed business’. I had seen Henry’s there on Autoparkway and had decided to make it a point to stop in and give them a try. I walked in(I failed to se the faded cash only sign on the door) and went to the counter and just assumed the menu was the board posted above behind the counter no one that worked there bothered to say any thing about having a menu to selected from as well. I made my selctions from the board and saw several people with soup but didn’t see those listed. I asked about it, a youngish to middle ageI man that seemed or acted like he didn’t speak or understand English, pointed to menus over on a counter like I was suposed to know that’s where they were at. Anyway I picked out a couple of more things ,feeling a bit put off, but just assumed it was a cultural thing. I placed the order and hoped I was getting what I selected and reached for my billfold and pulled out my debit card, which acts as a criedit card and or a check, which, a check is suposed to be as good as CASH. Any way the man Condensendingly barked at me CASH ONLY CASH ONLY and pointed to a 1 inch strip printout on the register CASH ONLY. Well. the last 15 years like so many people I no longer carry but maybe 10-20 on me at best and I had selected food for 5 people so I was SOL about eating. I went back about a week later CASH in hand and again the same guy I guess he owns or manages served me up attitude along with my carry out. The food was just ok. Needless to say other Vet. sandwich shops around and places for pho but thats one I’d say even with the rudeness and cash only draw back I’ll try several more times before writting them off.
Amazing pho and bubble tea! I have tried many pho places on the coast and this is now my favorite. I will be returning.
