Front Porch Barbecue & Seafood. Very poor food over cooked too much salt .
We were very disappointed with the offered selections. While the service was good, we simply do not feel it makes up for a lack of seafood( all they had was catfish), and no real flavor to the food. Not the best choice for the cost.
Chicken gumbo. I have been in Hattiesburg for 3 days and I have had the gumbo 3 times.It is the best gumbo I have ever had.I am from N.Georgia and travel all over the South with my work.We have a group of about 20 men that ride adventure bikes.We all find great food across the country to fix at our geatherings.The last one I found was Tony’s seafood in Cedar Key Florida.He had it at a local festival,Now you cac buy it at Publicks food stores.The best clam cheder ever.I was hoping to get the receipt from you on your gumbo.If not I will understand. Seafood!. Went for dinner on Saturday 10/26/13 and the seafood was delicious and the service was awesome very friendly!A seafood lover’s dream and the price was excellent… We will return and take family!!
I brought my family here from Oklahoma to have dinner. Your sign says BBQ and Seafood, absolutely no seafood on the buffet whatsoever!!! Catfish is not seafood! Every item on the buffet tasted old! The hush puppies were grease, the greens were old, even the catfish was cold!!! I was very disappointed. I will say the service was commendable….
The salad bar was delicious and the dressing were very fresh although some of the lettuce was a bit brown and wilted. There is a lot of fried choices such as fish, gizzards, chicken and they were extremely salty but sides such as Mac and cheese and the veggies were ok. The desserts were homemade and good. The staff was however severely lacking in social graces and personality. There were very cold and seemed to be bothered by people who were asking questions or asked for help finding something! The table service was horrible and refills were only given if you flagged them down and reminded them for the third time you needed more tea!
Perhaps the best buffet in town. Sure you can find better fresh cooked food of this type at Cotton Blues or Georgia Blues. But as far as buffets go, this place is alright. Fresh crisp coleslaw that doesnt taste like mush. In fact probably the best coleslaw in town. Good hush puppies, nice fresh vegetable options, etc. deserves more credit than it is given.
