I had a BLT Entree Salad as my main course. It was full of iceburg lettuce with the hard pieces thrown in. It was not a good salad! I would think a restaurant of this caliber would use assortment of greens. Also, had a cup of gumbo. Filled to the brim with rice! Come on…really!

I have only been here once, and the food was very good. We had the blue crab fondue as an app, and I could have eaten it with a spoon. I had the shrimp and grits for my entree and it was definitely in my top 5 as far as my encounters go with shrimp and grits. Our waitress wasn’t outstanding. We did have to wait about 20 minutes to be served, and received only one refill on drinks throughout the meal. The food outshined the service, thankfully. I will be back.

Omg!! Would never have seen this coming!! Best restaurant in Hattiesburg, (excepting ethnic cuisines), on part, or a bit better than Cotton Blues! Where did the chef come from? Excellent drinks actually good all the way around don’t miss this place!

Took in a business dinner this past week at Patio 44. From what I could tell this was probably my associate’s favorite place in Hattiesburg, but I had not tried it before. He was on a first name basis with the bar-tender who came out from behind the bar to take our drink order before the waitress even came to the table. We skilled an appetizer and just enjoyed the sourdough loaf with our drinks as we waited for our main course to arrive. I ordered the Cajun Cream Sauce Covered Catfish while my associate ordered the Apple Glazed Thick Cut Pork Chop. When they arrived entree envy set in quickly for me as his pork chop looked and smelled wonderful, and he commented as much as we dined and discussed business. My catfish dish was for the most part good, two large filets, with a really nice Andouille and Tasso cream sauce. The fish were fried well, but the chef didn’t properly remove the mainline from the fish before breading them, so I had to do that at the table to prevent the off-putting taste the mainline gives the fish if not removed. The Garlic Roasted Mashed Potatos were a nice compliment to the meal. I will return but will be ordering something from the Grille next time.

My in-laws brought us here while we were visiting from Florida. It was okay. My f-i-l had the duck which he really enjoyed. My m-i-l had soft-shell crabs. She said one was good, the other not so soft. My husband and I shared the seafood platter. It was okay, kinda lackluster. The waitress seemed to be new or confused. Just sort of off. And the place was full of flies. The atmosphere was nice, the service weird, and the food meh. Not bad but not great.

I tried the redfish for the first time on Friday night and it was to die for! The texture was perfect, flaky, and light– The perfect dish for a warm Mississippi night. The entree comes with a bed of gouda grits… Also delicious! I have nothing but positive things to say about this restaurant. It was an all around great experience… Another one of my favorite Patio 44 dishes is their cheese plate appetizer.

Mother’s Day meal letdown.. I went to Patio 44 for an early dinner on Saturday before Mother’s Day. My daughter and I both ordered the $30 steak. I thought I would eat half and take the rest home but i had to cut off so much fat that I ended up eating it in one sitting. Also, we both ordered our steaks medium well. She had so much pink in hers that she barely ate any. This was very disappointing. I had been there for lunch before and had a great experience with the salmon. Not sure if I will return soon though.
