Interesting place. When we want seafood and don’t want to cook it ourselves (once a month maybe?) we always end up here. The grilled fish is terrific, done with peppers and onions and stuff. The rest of the fried foods taste like most places, although the shrimp are bigger than I’ve seen elsewhere. Staff is polite and accommodating. I hope they thrive, as few ever have in this location.
I went to Sam last night to get a carryout and here are the results . I would not go back ! I had the fried Shrimp Poor Boy . Way too much Salt / season was added ti the shrimp . The fries were loaded with old cooking oil. I also noticed that the bun was burnt and had a burnt taste . Very Bad !!!! When I went into this place I was the only one so that should tell you something about their food . I would not even give one star . 🙁
Was super excited about this wonderful new food find then……. I have ordered out once and food was fabulous…so I go for lunch one day and again was great, but this time I ordered a grilled shrimp salad. I asked what all was in salad from the lady at the counter and she nicely told me. I received my salad on a cheap small Styrofoam plate, it was not what the lady had told me but that was ok, I’m not to picky and it looked delicious. They did not have knives to help cut lettuce, etc. The fork they gave me was bending with each bite, the huge salad was falling off the cheap small plate, they had no crackers to go with the salad…..but all this I overlooked due to they just opened and the ladies were receptive of the problems and said they would tell management. I liked the food so much I have told lots of people about Sam’s and how great the food is.—-then today my daughter ordered and picked up a lunch order to bring and eat with me at work. It was not what we ordered but it was too late to return so I called to explained the mistake. The lady on the phone took down my info. Name , number, etc. And said to come by and get my plates free of charge whenever I wanted. So tonight when I left work I ordered my plate (free). All in all when I got there they told me no they would not honor their word…..then I said well I still need supper for my family and bought 3 Sam’s specials. All in all I was there waiting and explaining the situation for 1 hour, and I left with still the wrong food….the man Adam Mansy was rude and said he was the manager and owner. He came to bring food to my vehicle with gloves on and never changed them. He said he understood but never could get the order correct and I have it clearly printed on my receipt. These folks have great food but poor communication, management , and understanding of running a restaurant.

Best place in town !!!. If you are looking for a good quality seafood joint with great prices … You will find of here . Awesome customer service and delishious food !!! Huge servings as well. Next seafood in town period .
Mz.Hill. This is the best eatery Hattiesburg has to offer Shrimp Basket,Macks Seafood close your doors biggest shrimp,great service hands down awesome quality&quantity they really came and taking over go get ya$ worth n then some don’t order alot cause u cant eat it all!
