If you were looking for great food, unique atmosphere and excellent drinks all coming from a local owned establishment, then this is definitely a local gastro pub that you need to check out!
New addition inJackson that is making an impact in the Fondren area. The menu is rather limited but I didn’t expect much considering their focus seems to be more on the bar offerings. The crispy confit chicken wings and the barrelhouse burger were both excellent dishes. I saw other tables enjoying the meatballs and tuna poke nachos, so I’ll be sure to return and partake in those and some cocktails. The service wasn’t up to par (-.5), but maybe the waitress was just overwhelmed. A great open space and welcoming environment. Thumbs up to BH.
This would be a great date place. I know they havent been open long, but the food was good. We dined with our roomate, he had the cuban and cheese grit . He was totally pleased, his only complaint was sandwich filling fell out . I had the Buffalo cauliflower to start which was really good. The main course for my girlfriend was Cobb salad and I had the pork chop. All were delicious, I look forward to seeing specials come on the menu and see what barrel house has to offer !
Great service. Good food. Very good bar menu. A bit loud. Sound damping on ceiling would be a good addition. Good blues music! Trendy new restaurant.
