What a fun experience! Super nostalgic. Great old decor and looks like it did in the movie the Help! I ordered the Prescription Omelette which is made with pimento cheese. Little heavy on the green onions but tasty.

We have been waiting to try Brent’s Drug Store over many visits to Jackson and finally made it in for lunch. We were guided to this historic diner by local relatives who have always enjoyed their food and experience at Brent’s. We presented a slight difficulty as a party of six. We were greeted after a few minutes of waiting and attempting to get the attention of a staff member. We were seated at a cramped table designed for four people but easily agreed to be seated in such a way, due to hunger. Our waitress was not well trained and was unaware of why many of the authentic memorabilia was missing from the walls. Our waitress was also curt and dismissive to my family’s needs and was clearly overwhelmed with the six top she was assigned, forgetting to take drink orders from two of our party members and rushing us through the ordering process. Again, I get the busy rush going on. I enjoyed the cheddar cheeseburger with fries and would recommend that to anyone who is looking for an enhanced diner burger. My wife had a sampler of three different scoops of salad(chicken, tuna and pimento) which tasted bland and stale. This was bearable until a human hair was found in the tuna salad. Another family member had another human hair rolled into his silverware setting and had unwanted American cheese on his ordered hamburger. Our waitress remained distant and rude to us until it was time to drop the check. She then became engaging and offered milkshakes as though she were a different person from the soul out. Overall, it felt as though new management had taken over and the establishment was failing. My family members, who took us to Brent’s with the expectation of a great experience at a Jackson institution, were clearly disappointed. I never take the time to write a review unless I am exposed to a truly poor or truly exemplary experience. This was truly a poor experience given the history of Brent’s and the expectations held by all. I plead to Brent’s management to make an improved effort to both appropriately represent and cease to insult the inherited legacy.

Burger Bun Surprise. I came here on my birthday for lunch and ordered their burger (which I’ve heard people rave about) and chili cheese fries. The fries were decent, but there was a nice big piece of mold on the burger bun. The waitress was really sweet and had the kitchen make a new burger when I asked her for a new bun. The burger wasn’t bad, but I don’t get the hype.

Fantastic service and even better food! I highly recommend it great for all ages! Sunday brunch is particularly amazing….but come with an empty stomach they give generous portions.

Disappointed. My husband and I took our daughter in for what was suppose to be a fun experience and turned into a disappointing evening. We sat at the bar and was asked abruptly if we were eating or having a shake. We had just had an EXCELLENT dinner at Babalu so just wanted dessert. She gave us menus and left. We waited and waited with no one coming by. the place was not that busy so we thought we would wait to see what happened. In the next 15 minutes we watched as 4 servers sat at the other end of the bar and hung out. I made eye contact with them several times. We also saw a table seated and order was taken right behind us. My husband and I both have background in the food industry ( my husband currently manages a restaurant) so bad service is really sad to us. What upset me the most was to walk away from a great looking desert menu and tell my daughter we had to leave…. Never again will I step in that place. Customer service is such an important part of a business and we would have LOVED to spend some money! So too bad for them!

Horrible Experience. Went to Brent’s when it first opened again during a Fondren After Five event. Waited forever when the owner came over and rudely told me they were closed. Went back the following week and had the worst fried catfish you could imaging. They don’t even try. Stay away!
