First time eating here tonight. It was great! My 2nd food truck experience and it was the best. Located usually on old fannin rd in the evenings.
From Food Truck Friday (Smith Park) to Fondrens First Thursday and now this food truck has a spot on Old Fannin Rd in Flowood. When I pass by, there always seem to be a line forming and now I know why. I tried the bourbon filet mignon pita, grilled chicken pita, crispy fries and a blackened chicken special. Both chicken entrees were very moist with a great char-grilled flavor and the medium prepared filet was extremely tender. He warmed the soft, pillowy pitas on the grill, drizzled it with a sauce (he wouldn’t disclose the components, but tasty!), added a fresh spring mix and tied it all together with some perfectly seasoned fries on top. Delicious & reasonably priced. He’s got my stamp of approval.
Stopped by Smith Park for lunch during Food Truck Friday and got the Bourbon Filet Pita with Crispy Fries from One Guy Steak and Chicken food truck. First off, the fries: crispy they were not (a bit under cooked), but I didn’t mind because the seasoning was some of the best I’ve ever had on fries. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and was incredibly juicy and flavorful. Both items had a drizzle of what I assume was homemade bourbon sauce, giving it a mild sweetness that tied the dish together. Overall, a pretty solid (though pricey) dish. Just know that they prepare their dishes fresh, so expect a bit of a wait.
