this is some good southern cooking here! everything i’ve had is great, besides the chicken livers. i’ve never cared for them but my coworker said they were some of the best he’s ever had so i gave them a shot. the fried chicken is has a nice light batter which is awesome. the red beans and rice is killer. the mac and cheese is done right. best ribs i’ve had on a buffet. i’ve never had their dessert because i’m always too full.
BEST SOUTHERN COOKING. I am from the area and we stumbled across Pearls and I am here to tell you there is noting on the buffet that is not absolutely wonderful.. the fried chicken and fish are delish…. all the veggies are cooked homestyle… We eat here as often as we can. Go by and check them out you will not be sorry!!!! I work in Rigeland area and probably been to every restaurant around and nothing compares… its just ridiculously good.
Absolutely delicious home cooking. Make u think u are back at Grandmas. Small humble place with big taste. By far the best southern cooking I’ve had at a restaurant…. And I’m from Mississippi and my Grandmother can cook. Take my word and try it!!!!!
Man I was mostly raised in southern Cali but been in the sip for 20yrs and I super loved this place it taste like grandma and great grand ma cooking to the point. I love this southern cooking. most people that can cook like this? deceased.
Much too much sugar is used in the vegetables. the dressing was sweet like a dessert. other than that the food is very good. i do not want my vegetables as sweet as dessert. wen went sunday september 30, 2012 around 1:00 pm
Food Your Mama Serves You. If you were born and raised in the South, Pearl’s Southern Cooking is a buffet restaurant in south Jackson that serves food you probably grew up eating. The buffet has dfferent entrees that range from fried chicken, fried fish, BBQ ribs and chicken, and a variety of vegetables and desserts.The restaurant seemed to be a pretty popular place during the time we went for lunch as most of the tables were occupied. If you go, go hungry, you will not leave hungry.
