Too bad…. This place really broke my heart. While in town for a night, I looked up places to go.. this one sounded like one to try. I was excited when I walked through the door. The old-time decor and vintage tunes put me in the mood for a good meal. Everything up unit the entree was great. I ordered the snapper luna, which has crab meat and wine sauce on top. It was simply not fresh. My first bite of crab meat was half shell…and the sauce was very strange. I have never sent a dish back, but it was simply not edible. My husband had prime rib and it was ok, but he also had a side of fried shrimp and they did not taste fresh at all… We simply did not eat them. Our server was very nice and had the fish removed from our bill, but she informed us that the owner insisted that we pay for the salad ($7) and baked potato ($4). Maybe we caught them on an off night, but we won’t be returning.
When I return to Jackson from Denver, this is where I want to eat, always good no matter what we order. The salads and salad dressing is a treat by itself. Service is great.
Absolutely wonderful. Had a date night and decided on crechale’s. neither of us had been in to eat there in a while and it’s as good as we remember. Soft shell crab is the best anywhere. Portions where just right and it topped our night off when bob pulled up a seat to chat. My girl and I have a combined forty years restaurant experience in Jackson and were truly impressed. We will be back.
Don’t get it. What’s the big deal? I ordered Lena Redfish and it was good but I’ve had better. The drinks were weak. Waitress put her check on the table and that meant were supposed to leave, apparently. No one was coming in at the point but they were clearly getting ticked we didn’t leave but didn’t ask if we wanted another drink or anything else. Instead the staff kept walking by the table giving us dirty looks. As long as they have been in business, you would think they would handle that better. I have to go again with my dinner group, if that happens again, it will be my last visit.
Awesome! Step back in Time. 1st off: Bob is the freindliest guy you will ever meet.He makes you feel like the King of France!Their Steaks are great. The Snapper Lena is great.Perfect little salads.They save the best for last: Chocolate Pie.They have Blueberry, Lemon and others, but the Chocolate Pie is the best I’ve ever had. The crust on these pies are blind baked and will blow you away.You have to check this place out
Best atmosphere in jackson. Bob crechale just knows how to do it right. Wonderful service and food every time.
Gotta love it. This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time for so many reasons that I can’t describe them all here. Every time I travel home to Mississippi I do my absolute best to visit and eat soft-shell crab and soak up the charm of a true classic.
