The food was not that bad. I had the Fried Chicken Special for Thursday and it was okay. The chicken breast could have used a bit more seasoning though. I rated this restaurant a 2.0 for its lack of care for personal space and cleanliness by the staff. I ordered a can of sprite (that was highly over-priced by the way for $2.00) and the waitress opened my can with her bare hands on the way to my table. I didn’t think that was very sanitary. I also did not like the way that the waitress placed the silverware and napkins on the table. She flung my napkin in front of me as if it were a Frisbee. I rather enjoyed the food, but the customer service and cleanliness could stand a few needed adjustments.
Dark and dingy, a Jackson landmark for over 50 years… and it looks it. And I’m not sure how you mess up a hamburger steak, but mine really tasted awful, with the generic brown gravy and semi-raw onions. The waitress knew… and asked what was wrong with the meal. I couldn’t eat it… but to my dis-credit, I lied and said that it was just too much, and I didn’t eat that much. Typically I let people know when I don’t enjoy their food, but I don’t know why I couldn’t this time. But yuck…
Worst luncheon experience in years. Server inattentive, all three dishes ordered had problems. Liver and onions (COLD and sent back to be microwaved); roast beef sandwich (POT ROAST not sliced beef like server ASSURED) third dish unavailable, only after two meals were served. Substitute, red beans and rice absolutely flavorless. Desert, egg custard, had scrambled egg consistency and was gag-able. Had to wave repeatedly for server, sitting at front resting. Cost around fifty dollars and I feel like I was robbed.
They don’t use Hoop Cheese in the Toasted Cheese Sandwich.. Title says it all.
Horrible and expensive!. Just ate here with my family. I have no idea who would give this place good reviews. The service was horrible. The food was overpriced and mediocre at best. Ordered a salad for $7.50, and it was literally half a head of iceberg lettuce, one slice of tomato, half an egg and a pepper. Four shrimp and a few fries was $17.25 for my older daughter, wow my younger daughter ordered a kid plate of shrimp and fries which included 3 shrimp and same amount of fries for $6.95. Seriously?? One extra shrimp cost $10.00. I’ll say it again, horrible service, okay atmosphere, and food you could get from a can or frozen dinner. Don’t waste your time or money!
Wasted my money. This place was awful. Waitress didnt even ask us what we wanted to drink. The ranch that was brought out to us was ruined. Very outdated and uncomfortable. I paid 50 dollars plus a tip for 4 drinks, a childs plate, one bowl of the grossiest gumbo ever and 2 chicken tender plates with consisted of2 small tenders. Id never ever recommend this place. Ever.
Really don’t get why this restaurant has any decent reviews. Service, food, atmosphere was the worst I’ve ever experienced and that’s saying something.
