Chef is da’ man. I brought a date to Ro’ Chez about 2 weeks ago and it was the first time I had ever seen or heard of this restaurant. From the outside it looks like a shack, but on the inside it is rustically decorated with all kinds of items connected with Southern living. We showed up promptly at 8 with wine and were asked to sit in the bar until the 6 o’clock seating had exited. Approximately 20 minutes later we were seated in the Dining Room and the eating commenced. Chef Roache and his crew cranked out 6 dishes in under 2 hours, all of them being delicious and well presented. Our favorite was the dessert, it was a chocolate 5 spice custard with a coconut whipped cream, these are the types of dishes that make children. My date and myself quickly paid and exited, lavishing many praises upon Mr. Roache for his kindness and hospitality. His restaurant is truly one of a kind for the Jackson area with his food and the atmosphere he creates only makes it better. We will definitely be back in a couple of weeks. Thank you Chef Roache.

WHO WAS RUDE!!. I was also at the April Cooking Class. Where should I began? How about the Chef was an Ass. As I recalled have of ya’ll acted liked you where outside talking about things did not matter to a horses ass. Then Chef tried to ask ya’ll come on listen to me you did not shut ya’ll mouth.Come guys now that is rude. Most of ya’ll must have throught that ya’ll was at your local bar. Because if you could not see, you still could hear, smell and taste. Come on people grow up. I have gone to many Cooking Classes all over the U.S.A. never have I come out of one with a full belly! This was a Cooking Class, not a going out to a Dining experiences. Come guys get real. By judging what I saw heard most ya’ll have never been in a kitchen or even where to begin to cook rice.I was floored that have of ya’ll was so stupid to ask how to cook rice? If the Chef had used the fryer and steamer in another room ya’ll would have asked him how did you do that? Get real! I still forget how much stupidity is still in this world ! I still would ask all of ya’ll when not acting like a bunch of second graders try the best Dining Experience in Jackson Ro’Chez I’am sure you will be full and happy… I love every thing that I have ever eating at Ro’Chez.. Thanks !!!

Great Food, Relaxed Atmosphere. I’ve been to Ro’chez at least 7 times since I discovered it a little over a year ago. Twice for a cookin’ class and the other times for dinner with friends and family. I love Ro’Chez. James makes you feel like you’re having dinner at his house. The food is always spectacular and you genuinely feel like you can be yourself, laugh out loud, and moan when you bite into the deliciousness of his dishes with layers of complex flavors. The decor is rustic, comfortable and unique. It’s BYOB. I highly recommend Ro-Chez for dinner with your significant other, couples or girls night out. Much fun!

Not worth the money!. Not sure if I just went on a bad night or if this is the norm. The food was bland and nothing special. Also, the chef was a complete jerk! Everyone has their bad days. Perhaps I just went on a REALLY bad night. I am definitely not willing to give it a second try.

Almost perfect – but not quite. This is a cute, funky little place. The hours are odd, space is tight and the chef, while brilliant, can be very temperamental. It’s my single criticizm of a restaurant that focuses on what’s really important, the food. So I’ll be brief – please appreciate the effort people make to patronize your establishment.

HORRIBLE. Long wait, bad service. pLACE IS VERY SMALL AND CRAMP. Very limited selection on the menu. DO NOT RECOMMEND IT ALL!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful!. This was the best meal that I’ve had in a long time. The food was amazing. The atmosphere was awesome. I will definitely return.
