Very interesting stop! They are a combinations of anything and everything and you can see if from pulling in. Food was great! My husband enjoyed the special of Redfish Etouffe and my parents had a shrimp sandwich with the same sauce. They have it posted that they are Gluten Free but it’s pretty much the basic something without a bun. The Pork was great though.
So I had heard of Darwell’s many times but this was our first visit. I had a small group of teenagers and my husband and I. We walked in as newbys, took a bit to figure out what we wanted. The young man was very patient and kind, explained the menu and even offered to put my pastries I had brought in out of the hot car in the cooler. We all had different items, and all were delish. But the star was the Crawfish Etoufee. I will be remembering this one for quite some time. It was phenomenal! Forget driving to NOLA, this place is the bomb! Do NOT come here expecting fried food….. they have NONE. Which was not what we wanted anyway. Oh and the Artwork is very fun and interesting. I may be late discovering Darwells but I won’t wait to return. Will gladly drive the hour and half to go back! Thanks Papa D for the Birthday pic, made our day!#18thBday.
A rare mid-week mini date landed us in this extreme dive. About a mile from the sand and waves, this little gem features incredibly fresh seafood. We ordered the lunch combination (crab cake and yum-yum pasta) that was both filling and delicious! For dinner the feature of the day was seared tuna steaks topped with grilled asparagus and lump crab. Really wish we could have stayed for dinner too!! This place is far from fancy yet extremely close to perfection. Wear a t shirt and flip flops if you want. Just come hungry. We left more than impressed.
Etouffee awesome, laid back place, good food for the money, enjoyed the atmosphere of live music. Definitely will go back. Snicker brownie dessert is good
Best Redfish that I have ever had!! Love the casual atmosphere! My husband and son loved the crawfish etoufee burger!! We Highly recommend Darwell’s!!
My wife and I love to find small places that dont get a lot of attention, and while Darwell’s does get a lot of attention it is small. It doesn’t feel like it’s as big as a hit as it is when you step inside. The man behind the counter is really passionate about the food and I found that refreshing. First, my wife got the Yum Yum Pasta which was delicious. I got the Crawdaddy Burger which if it would’ve been more of a burger and not me trying to find a way to keep all of the ingredients together to eat it like a burger I would’ve enjoyed it a lot more. It was still really good but next time I’ll get something else!We finished with the Snicker brownie which is to die for. It’s as big as my fist, not your normal sized brownie.Please give this place a try you won’t regret it, the hype is real.
Great atmosphere. Food is good. Overall good experience for the type of place it is. Sometimes they have music such as bluegrass bands and singers.
