Happy!. This is the only bakery I’ve found in the area that actually has any variety. I don’t have just, oh, 3 options…(like some places) …there’s probably 3 dozen. Including cheesecakes…ohh man. It’s hard to decide. But when I do, I’m never disappointed! I would suggest maybe don’t eat the whole, gigantic cupcake in one go. It’s worth it, and doesn’t cost more. It seems like everything is made with the intent of making something good even more delicious. I don’t want a plain cupcake…that’s boring! Why bother! The one I ate (this time) had heath bars broken up into the batter, and sprinkled on top of the frosting…that takes extra effort, if you ask me. It’s just purposefully better. And the cheesecake? With the snickers? I…seriously think it’s the second best cheesecake I’ve ever had.Nothing has tasted stale to me, any of the times I’ve ever been, anything I’ve tried. When I first found out about Melissa’s my boss had left me a cinnamon roll from her, and I ate it the next day. And it was amazing. I had absolutely no complaints about my second-day cinnamon roll, except that it was gone when I ate it. So…really don’t know what happened to that one lady. The environment is nice, and I enjoy watching the street from the window with all the plants outside. And I order a regular coffee, because it’s not starbucks. In my efforts to find a baker who was willing to work with a frazzled soon-to-be bride, I have to say they are by far the nicest people I encountered in my hunt. When I went the first time, Melissa herself wasn’t even there and I still had a better experience than I did at other places. I scheduled an appointment, and unlike the other people…(who shall remain nameless)…Melissa actually sketched out what I wanted, listened to what I said, made suggestions…(not googling images for 15 minutes that aren’t even relevant, seriously…)…all to make sure we were on the same page about what she could do and what I wanted. The pictures she showed me were of things she actually did (Still talking about you, other place.) …and she actually made samples (Still looking at you, dude), and cost less too. So…Melissa’s wins. Hands down. Favorite bakery.

AMAZING. Absolutely love this little shop. So trendy, yet cozy. Such friendly service. The owner was so nice and the desserts were great. My boyfriend and I both agreed that the coffee we shared together was the best we ever had. I recommend everyone to try this place. 🙂

Stale and Poor Customer Service. This bakery may make amazing cakes and cupcakes for parties and events but, what they sell in the display case is not fresh and is left overs. I have gone there 3 times early in the morning and the cinnamon rolls have a lard taste to them and they are hard. The doughnuts and apple fritters that I purchased were hard and very stale.I ordered a Cafe Mocha and the clerk did not know how to make it she goes and gets the owner who comes out and ask me the customer how to make the drink, she was rather rude about it. They have it listed on the menu board and how to make it so why would they ask the customer. Why have the drink if you do not know how to make it.I can get better and fresher items at my local grocery store so I am not going to go there anymore. For I do not need rude service or stale items.

Melissa’s specialty cakes is by far the best bakery I have ever been to. Five stars!

Poor Customer Service. I contacted MELISSA’S SPECIALTY CAKES last week to look into getting a cake for my husband’s 67th birthday on 9-22-13. I communicated that I was an inpatient in the hospital and did not have cash, credit card, or checks at this time to put down deposit. I gave two local business references (within less than a block of the business) who personally know me and she never even bothered to contact me or pursue – pretty poor business priorities. So, his birthday was awash…thanks for being so uncaring and I will assure I never recommend or use MELISSA’S SPECIALTY CAKES…not a good way to do business.

Nice spot for a tasty individual sized dessert. Good variety of gourmet cupcakes & other desserts. (Haven’t tried their cakes yet.)
