I want to relate a very short story: Last November (2015) I happened to be in Winn Dixie just before Thanksgiving. I was looking at the Rib Roasts and asked the price. It was considerably cheaper that the roast I had gotten at Rick’s Meat Hook the year before. I was quite proud of myself at the thought of how much money I had saved. Well, to shorten this short story, we prepared the Winn Dixie roast and was I disappointed. It was not even close to the one I had had the year before from Rick’s. It did not taste even close to as good and all I had done was to save a few bucks…Big deal. I have just gotten off the phone with the lady at Rick’s Meat Hook and have ordered my Thanksgiving roast from them. You would be much better off buying some different cut of meat from Winn Dixie (or where ever you do your shopping) than trying to save a few dollars on a rib roast because you will never know how a rib roast should really taste. It is just not worth the money you save. Besides, we should all be happy there is a real butcher shop close by. In a world where butcher shops have been squeezed out of existence by corporate food chains whose only thought is their bottom line, I rejoice that a place like Rick’s exists.

Delicious steak sandwich!. The most delicious steak sandwich I have ever eaten on the Gulf Coast! Soft buns, carmelized onions, peppery steak. You will need napkins afterwards or just lick your fingers! I haven’t tried their steaks yet, but if you’re around town craving a decent steak sandwich for a take out unch GO HERE!
Top quality meats and cheeses cut by a professional. Excellent homemade sausages served from the butcher side as well as a sandwich option! I will not purchase meat from any other location now that I have discovered this outstanding butcher!
Expensive. Prices are high. Not going to dog them, but I believe I was bamboozled on the cut of meat I asked for.
None better. Grab a slice of the cheddar cheese while you’re there!
Great butcher!. Great meats for the grill, last time we bought jalapenos stuffed with sausage, wrapped in bacon to make at home… Amazing (of course). Lots of great cuts of meat – I’ll be back!!
