All I have to say is try the AppleFritter. Best in Jackson area if not the state. The butter cake donut is awesome. Family owned and operated. Better bring cash because that’s all that will buy you a donut in this establishment.
Many don’t realize the owner is the former CEO of Russell Athletics. In retirement, he and his son opened this place in Madison. It is hands down the best donut around and here’s why: to my knowledge there are no more than 3 people involved in the baking (consistency). They start baking at O’Dark Thirty. They never over-produce. So, if you walk in and ask for 3 dozen glazed, they won’t sell it to you. You should have called the day before. And, to the reviewer who showed up at 10, what’s the matter with you? Those of us who really want these donuts get there by 730. Finally, they only seem to care about donuts. They only take cash and if you are cash deficient, you can write an IOU! So, if you want great donuts, wake up early.
