One of the best patios in Madison. This is definitely American Greek and not traditional. The feta appetizer is huge and tasty. The falafels are really good and my husband loves the burger. Very chill and low key. Service has always been really friendly. It would be better if they ha baklava.
One of the best locally owned restaurants in the area. The food is always good and the covered patio is so relaxing. The staff is friendly and helpful every time. Definitely my favorite place around town.
Poor service, mediocre food. After giving this a try several times I will probably drive the extra 5 miles to Krilakis. The porch is the only thing going for Kristos.
Grilled Chicken Pita Wrap. It was delicious. Two thumbs up. Very nice people and the food is heavenly.
The good and the bad. This was my second visit to Kristos after moving to Madison 4 years ago. On my first visit I was put off by the hummus, which best I could tell had zero garlic, zero cumin, zero lemon, and was utterly flavorless. Heard they were under new ownership, so time for another try. Today I ordered a gyro. Everything was fine…except…instead of tzitziki sauce, they had smeared on some sort of disgusting SWEET white goo that tasted suspiciously like salad dressing with added sugar. Very similar to Keifer’s disgusting white goo that also is NOT tzitziki sauce. If you have ever had any real Greek food and liked it, trust me that this whatever-it-is sauce would gag a maggot. On the positive side, the fries were fine, the service was good, and the building/ambiance is very nice.
Love this place!. This place is amazing. It is such a cool atmosphere. They have a great beer selection and about 8 different beers on tap. They change their draft beers out a good bit which is nice because there is always a variety. The food is great. My favorites are the greek nachos with lamb, gyro, and shrimp pita add mozzarella. Their hand cut curly fries are awesome and they give you a huge portion that can be shared. Service is excellent. The new owners have really brought this place back to life. Well done!
