Great staff that are all very friendly. Amazing food with large portions. Loved the poboy and thought the amount of meat was really generous for the price. Very enjoyable meal.
Great $5 a dozen oysters…friendly and clean. Cold beer…..great view of the bayou. We went with the intent of eating oysters, and that’s really all we ate.
We ate here on 2/29/2016. Great seafood shack. Don’t come expecting anything fancy, this is truly a neat littleseafood divewith wonderful food and a view of the bayou. There’s a deck and you can eat inside. We had the raw oysters at $5 a dozen, which weresalty and reallygood-not huge but they were very tasty, and each of us ordereda different entre. We collectivelyhad the seafood platter, the shrimp platter, the crab platter and a shrimp poyboy with fries-all fried. All of us had tossed salads that were fresh and good, the seafood was delicious. The shrimp po-boy had smaller shrimp but still good. We were there at 3 for lunch on a Monday afternoon and there was one very nice waitress running hard to keep up with her 5 tables but we didn’t have to wait for anything and we were well pleased! Several cars in the parking lot at 3 p.m.and that tells you something.
My husband brought me here while we were down for a weekend. I had the shrimp poboy and seafood gumbo. The gumbo was full of shrimp and yummy but the poboy is one of the best I’ve ever had. Perfect bread and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. To top it all they do their own hand cut fries. It’s off the beaten path and a bit of a dive but Oh So Good!
The service was awful.. We had a large group and 12 left after the greeter was rude and unhelpful.. We waited 1 hour to get our food.. My order was wrong and they added a 20% tip for their terrible service.
My family loves this place, even the kids who are very picky. Every time that we are down near the coast we make it a priority to stop at Mikey’s! The staff have ALWAYS been very outgoing and friendly, the food is exceptional, and we can’t get over the inexpensive price of the oysters! $7.00/dozen for oysters on the 1/2 shell is unheard of where we are from, and they are so fresh! Last time we were down there, we went back two days in a row.
We ate on the patio June 6, 2015 about 8:00. I had the oysters on the half shell and crawfish soup. The oysters were the best I’ve had in awhile and the soup was tasty but I added hot sauce to my taste. My husband had the seafood feast and he said it was really good. The crab cakes were hand made and the plate was full of oysters, shrimp and catfish with a side of fries but more seafood than fries. Beer was cold. We are going back tonight.
