I heard a lot of good things about this place and the locals seem to like it. It is located on the outskirts of the trendy downtown area but carries no such airs. The place is simple, comfortable and very clean. We all had pork sandwiches, which were ok but not superb. However, I like my pork pulled & chunky & this was chopped fine so it may have been a personal preference of texture. I found the buns to be a bit soggy…again it’s a texture thing for me. I like the flavor of the sauce. Good but not overpowering. On the upside, the service was impeccable. When the server heard us speaking about our dissatisfaction over the buns he was lightening fast trying to correct the problem & it was obvious his concern was sincere. We never wanted for a thing at the table the entire meal. My sides were fantastic! The collard greens were perfect as was my coleslaw. Will definitely give this place another try as I believe in supporting family business.

However, the service was fantastic and the place felt like a very comfortable, local barbecue establishment.The collard greens were great and the brisket was pretty tasty.It may not be the best barbecue around but I would consider it a pretty good option for lunch if you are stopping through Ocean springs.
