My husband and I are from New Orleans and live in north Mississippi since Katrina and we have been to Louisiana Bayou restaurant at LEAST 15 times so far. The food had been great every time. Yes you wait a while, but you get good authentic food. It’s not fast food. The people are great and are from New Orleans so they know how to cook. We highly recommend this place!
This restaurant won’t be around long. The food was mediocre at best. The fried seafood platter was as good as Captain D’s. The menu said it had oysters on the platter and there wasn’t even one. The bowl of gumbo was $18.00 and was served luke warm and only had one small shrimp and one tiny piece of sausage in it! No kidding!!! No other seafood was in it!! Won’t be back!! The quality of food doesn’t match the very high prices!! Don’t get me wrong, I believe in supporting new restaurants but when you don’t get what you pay for it’s very disappointing. Knew we wouldn’t be back as soon as the good came to the table!!
The food was fantastic! Two of us had catfish, and it was hot, crispy and light. But the sides stole the show! Blackeyed peas, red beans, yams and rice, jambalaya , etc. were wonderful. It seeems to be a new place, so a few small kinks, but nit with the food. U need to try thus place!
Great creole food. Was there sat on their jazz nite it was simply to die for. I made reservations and a menu was emailed and we were a table of 4 and special order of red fish seared to perfection with balsamic cabbage and we also had fried catfish over steam cabbage. the service was excellent and music was very pleasant to eat by. our order was ready 20 min after our arrival and bread pudding for desert will return with more friends again
Loooong wait!. After reading the good reviews, we really wanted to try this restaurant. We stopped in for lunch today (on a Saturday). We were told it would be 20-25 minutes before our food would be out because they make everything fresh to order. We were fine with that. By 40 mins, my husband was annoyed. And after I convinced him to wait an hour, we left. The gentleman waiting on us was very friendly and apologetic, but this was a little ridiculous. If he had offered a discount, we might have stayed. So, we went to a burger place very near by (I won’t say the name), but we had a great meal, met some really nice people and were out of there in 30 mins after sitting and visiting with the family we met. We WILL return to this burger place!
The food was authentically delicious and the service was excellent.
Thought the buffet was very good and priced reasonably.
