Tried Osaka for the first time yesterday for lunch. I ordered about four different rolls and they were pretty good. I also ordered chicken fried rice and it was decent until I noticed something extra in my rice. I noticed a small piece of white plastic paper in my rice. I informed the waitress and someone in the back took two dollars off my bill. I felt like they should’ve taken care of the entire amount due to the kitchen mistake. Maybe I will try another location and have better luck.
Avoid it and pick anywhere else. To say it was bad would be an understatement. First, the Grey Goose little dirty martini I ordered tasted like watered down lemon juice. Then we had to ask for a sashimi menu because all they gave us was the menu of Americanized rolls. We ordered the blandest most flavorless chirashi bowls. Then we ordered salmon roe and eel nigiri to go for our son. Imagine our disappointed surprise to find a salmon roll and some odd sauced up eel roll; not even remotely close to what we ordered.
This place has really deteriorated in the past year. Ordered food to go and got home and I was missing a roll. Drove another 10 minutes back with my cold food and they said they wouldn’t give us the roll we ordered and said it was my fault for not checking my order. You would think it’s the employee’s responsibility for ensuring I got what I ordered!! Awful customer service. Won’t be going back!!
Always liked the food before, called today to place a togo order and after 3 calls in 30 min someone finally answers, then proceeds to tell me they dont take togo orders before 4:30. first ive heard of this anywhere.. sounds like a sad copout.
It’s Valentine’s Day and I’ve always loved the food from here but not tonight. I ordered chicken and shrimp habachi. I was given 4 shrimp and 5 bites of chicken and the rice was sticky. The waitress let me sit at my table for over 5 minutes before she took my drink order and I overheard someone tell her she had someone in her section or I would’ve probably waited longer. And they seated where that when the door was opened, i felt the biggest draft of cold air. I know it’s Valentine’s Day but don’t skimp on the food and make sure the service is exceptional.

Very Disappointed. We have been going to the Osaka in Olive Branch since the day they opened. I have always been a fan of Osaka, so much that we drove all the way to the Collierville location before the Olive Branch one opened. Was very pleased with the location and ate there at least twice a week up until a few months ago. Management has changed and the restaurant is being run by teenagers, as is quite obvious the moment you walk through the door. The old manager used to walk around the restaurant in plain view but the new one, you never see. My husband and I went on a Wednesday night and were the first customers other than the ones sitting in hibachi and it took 50 minutes for my food to come out. My husband was served his within 10 minutes and was completely finished way before mine ever came. At about 30 minutes out, our waitress came to the table and said that the chef said it would be 2 more minutes, which turned into another 20. I ended up asking for a to go box as soon as it got to the table and our waitress never even apologized or offered an explanation, which I thought was very unprofessional. The prices are too high to put up with the service the way it has been the last few months. They need to revamp the way they do business or they’re going to lose a lot of customers.
