Salty. Being a member of a BBQ competition team it’s hard to find BBQ that even comes close to what we cook. With that being said we thought it was extremely salty. We ordered a rack of ribs and they were extremely tender(fall of the bone). Just way to salty for our taste.
We can’t stop eating there!!!!. The service is friendly. The atmosphere is quaint and inviting. The food, though… The food is AMAZING!!!!! The wings with hot bbq sauce are indescribable. The man cave cheese fries…OH MY! The pulled pork is so tender and delicious. Everything we’ve had is so so good. We have eaten there 3 times in the last week (when we found out about it), and we are ordering wings and ribs tonight. GO THERE. NOW.
Was first time eating there and will defently be back. Ribs fell off bone and was a generous portion.
I’ve been a regular at Southern Pride BBQ for a few months. I usually get their jumbo chopped pork sandwich. The pork is always lean n tender. Today, I finally tried their dry pork ribs. Hands down THE BEST I have ever eaten. So flavorful and tender. Fall-off-the-bone delicious. I’ve lived in the Memphis area 18 years. I’ve had bad ribs and good ribs. These are definitely THE BEST around. Quality is very important to the owners and staff. You can taste it.01 Aug, 2014I am so glad I had dinner here tonight. Their jumbo pulled pork BBQ sandwich was absolutely delicious. Hands down THE BEST pulled pork sandwich I’ve ever eaten.,The pork was so tender and juicy, it melted away in my mouth. And I couldn’t get enough of their regular BBQ sauce. It greatly reminded me of Arby’s sauce, which I love. Somewhat sweeter with a little kick. I can’t wait to eat at Southern Pride BBQ again. Well worth the drive from midtown Memphis.
Better than old style and topps.. I ordered a full rack of ribs and beans and potato salad. .. the rest of my group oedered sandwiches.They get points for having some tender meat that fell off the bone… but the flavor from the rub just wasn’t to my tastebuds liking.the Potato salad could have been the very best we had ever had if the Potatoes had been cooked just a minute or two longer… The beans were oit of a can and they tried toask it with bbq sauce and meat…I really, really wanted to LOVE this place… they no longer sell smoked Chicken Thighs 🙁 The place was clean and the service was fast & friendly but there was just something missing. ..
So this place was ok.. Definitely not the best in Memphis, probably not even top 5, but good enough for how close it is to where I live and the people are very nice!
Good eating. These people do it right. Get that beer permit. Loved everything for a small local shop.
