High Expectations_Disappointing Results. I was excited to see a Gus’s Fried Chicken in Oxford. I have loved the 3-4 times I have eaten at the Collierville/Mendenhall/Front Street Locations. There is a really odd smell when you walk in the front door. Food was okay (nothing to rave or complain about)- but we could not get over the odd smell (like a dirty dishcloth under each table). There were more servers than patrons- which was surprising for Grove Bowl Weekend.
Disappointed. Worst service I’ve received here in Oxford. We had to ask for someone to take our order, ask for refills, silverware, etc. It took at least 15 minutes to get our drinks. Maybe it’s just a bad day but this was not at all what I was expecting for my first time at Gus’s. Needs better servers. Customer service is key. I will not be back.
This is some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever tasted!! I knew there was a location in Memphis, but when I was visiting the college campus and saw that Oxford had one, I couldn’t pass this opportunity up. Cooked to order, hot, spicy, flavorful, filling, finger lickin good!!! What else can I say other than I wish we had one back home in jackson
