Good food but terrible service. They need to hire more people for the weekend breakfast rush.

Terrible place to eat. There are two of these establishments in Oxford. This review is based on a first time visit for a party of 5 at the Lusa located on West Jackson Avenue. After being seated and waiting for menus for about ten minutes, one member of our lunch party had to go behind the counter and retrieved them for us. Then after another few minutes we asked an employee behind the counter directly beside where we were seated if we actually had a server assigned to our table. She then came and took our drink orders. After we placed our food orders we were told they did not have the four of the five items we wanted. The excuse for the lack of service and shortage of menu items was that they were always busy on Sundays. (Clue to management, if you know that, be prepared.)Over one hour after being seated the menu items we ordered (which were actually available) were delivered to our table. The food could best be described as not even mediocre.Towards the end of our meal of sandwiches, which most places can prepare in a very short time, we asked to see the manager. She did comp our meal which we agreed was only fair. Just a heads up, the coffee is in the blue pitchers. I say that because if you want refills you have to get them yourself. And by all means dont expect to get what you ordered. They managed to get one out of five of our orders wrong.

Thought I had posted about this place already but I didn’t see it, so here goes again. AWFUL!!!!! Short version – wife and I were both disgusted with the food and service!

Pretty overpriced for what you get. The sandwiches are probably the worst offender: the kind of fake gourmet stuff where they use good bread, mediocre meats, and cut the corners with stuff like industrial-strength yellow mustard and generally skimpy portions. The quiche has always been chewy and pretty bland. Pastries and cookies are decent, but stay away from basically all the food.

Now that there are several locations in Oxford, the total quality experience (TQE) has changed dramatically. Gone are the days of a European caff. Gone are the china plates and silverware. Gone is the table service. Hello to plastic plates and cutlery. Might as well go to McDonalds. The equation does not work. Prices are the same but quality is divided by 3.

Good food, but the wait staff leaves A LOT to be desired.

Nice atmosphere, large variety, maybe too large. Some pastries are good, others bad. If they focused on making just a few things well, this place would be great.
