Great place for lunch. Wonderful restaurant that has cajun/southern food as their menu. The foods speaks for itself. My favorite: Salmon BLT or Pineapple Chicken Salad. The restaurant is beautiful, with a sense of old school plus comfort. The owners are just amazing. If ever in the Laurel/Ellisville area, be sure to come here. Especially for their bread pudding. The BEST bread pudding E-V-E-R! 🙂

Enjoy the bloom of this flower. I chose Cafe La Fleur on a lark for lunch and was very happy I did. Tucked away in downtown Laurel this little New Orleans style cafe has a great atmosphere–lots of exposed brick and old wood. It was busy with the lunch crowd but I was seated quickly and didn’t have to wait too long for service. When asked if the bisque or the gumbo was better my server said it was a toss-up so I chose the seafood gumbo and salad combo. The salad was very fresh and colorful. The gumbo was excellent with a nice little hint of hot spice and a thick, rich gumbo broth. A great find!

Awesome lunch spot.. La Fleur is definitely the best of the few restaurants in the heart of downtown Laurel. They’re open for lunch every weekday and for dinner on weekends, but the menu is much better at lunch. Awesome selection and very reasonably priced for what you get! I recommend the fish tacos, the Frenchman sandwich or the fried chicken salad. If you do go for dinner, the cajun chicken pasta is good. And you absolutely CANNOT miss the bread pudding for dessert. Service is always great too!!

Great Food. Cafe La Fleur is Laurel’s own poor man’s version of Crescent City Grill in Hattiesburg. The food is very good, for I ordered a ribeye, and a shrimp platter for my wife to go. It took about a hour for me to get my food but it was well worth it. The lady that gave me my food apologized, and she was very nice. While driving back home with the food, the smell of it almost had me pulling over to get a quck sample. Once I got home, I opened up my steak and it was beautiful, and tasted great. I took one of my wife’s shrimp off her plate and bit into it and it tasted as wonderful as it smelled. Cafe La Fleur, bottom line, has very good food.

I was impressed, the food is great and not unfairly priced i wish I could take the restraunt home with me it was that good. The service was a bit slow and they don’t take any plastic so bring cash.

Great lunch, very fresh. My daughter had the shrimp creole, probably the best I’ve eaten. Will go back.
