Pelahatchie Bay is a tradition for those of us who live in the area. No doubt it’s not for everybody, but you won’t find friendlier, more laid back people anywhere. The food is great, and you can help yourself to all the coffee you care to drink! The owners, cooks, and servers will bend over backwards to make your visit is a good experience. They do allow smoking in part of the dining area, so if you can’t stand that, stay away
Hope you enjoy the stench of overflowing ash trays. It’s ridiculous how horrible this place smells! The cooks, attendants, and essentially every employee walks around with a smoking cigarette dangling from their yellow lips. It’s a stinking pit of emphysema and coughing wretching old men. Worse than that, it’s slow, slow, slow. Food is mediocre, average, less quality than Waffle House. It’s just not good. Add in the fact that you and your clothes will stink like the wretched death of ash trays and old smoke, and you’ll agree- BIG THUMBS DOWN !!
