Unbelievable. Wow! La Morena is probably one of the best restaurants in Jackson. It’s hidden behind Amerigo in a Spanish-speaking strip mall (next to it is a Mexican fruit store, then a pasty shop, then a bar I believe). It’s great, our waiter was a 10-year old girl. Their salsa is unbelievable, and so are their chips which are nearly always hot and fresh. They have three different types of sauces (like thin salsas) which are spicy and good to put on your tacos (which are by the way, absolutely insane). La Morena is my new favorite.
Outstanding!. Tucked behind Ameigo in a Spanish-speaking shop corner, La Morena is simply the best Mexican food I have ever had in my life, and maybe, some of the best food in general I’ve ever had, anywhere. I went last weekend and am going again this weekend. Go there, and your life just may be changed forever.
Love it!. My daughter and I visited La Morena yesterday and not only was the food delish, but the service was outstanding! After living in Los Angeles for 17 years and having had a taste of authentic Mexican food, I was not disappointed at all. La Morena, by far, is the best Mexican food I’ve had in Mississippi ever!
Best Authentic Mexican in Jackson, Hands Down. I’m not a native Mississippian, I come from the land of Southern California, from a town founded by the Spanish and less than an hour away from Tijuana. I grew up on real Mexican food and La Morena is the real deal.Try the brisket in anything, it is simply amazing. They also have the best guacamole in town, it puts Babalu to shame.
