Not worth the price!! Crab cakes fair. Red fish a disaster. Tuna was okay. Rice tasted like Spanish rice. Wait staff did not know the menu and misrepresented menu selections. Only one kind of coffee available. Come on – this is the Starbucks age. Couldn’t even get an Irish coffee. Other options in town for half the price and better service available so not worth the bother or expense.
Service slow, had to remind our waiter twice that we’d ordered another glass of wine. Food was below average. Service overall was quite slow.
Had an outstanding meal fresh homemade rolls to our melting chocolate cake & praline rum bread pudding. We also never recieved the sorbet as stated on menu. But it never ruined our meals. Leonard our waiter was great. What a treat to experiance dining in an old Southern Mansion. Our only regret was not being dressed like Scarlet & Rhett. Everyone was friendly & helpful. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals. We’ve been in Vicksburg 4 days & have eaten @ several places all very good food. None have compared to our evening tonight @ Cedar Grove.
Underwhelming. Some will say Cedar Grove is the best in town, not true. I’d pick Anchuca, Roca or DJ’s any day. I’ve been twice and haven’t found anything I’d order again. It’s expensive, as expected. But I found the food underwhelming. While the staff is dressed nice, I found the service slow. At a place like this you should never have to ask to have your glass filled. In addition there was no lemon in the tea, no salad fork on the table, and no sorbet even though it’s on the menu. There were no daily specials, and the dessert menu was very limited. Lastly I’d never want to go after dark as the entrance is a good distance from parking, and there are numerous steps and uneven places to trip and fall.
