It has been a while since the last time I ate here. Place has gone down. Not as clean. Even smelled dirty. Watched the guy preparing food with gloves on touching his face and clothes. Someone else made my sandwich. Would have left if he was the one making mine.
Some positives and some dissapointment. McAlister’s has been a staple for many in MS. We quit going about 10 years ago because quality took a dive. Our recent two trips proves that although they have some good original choices, some quality issues are still in play. The sides are the main failures and both the mac & cheese and pasta salad are very sub par. I don’t even think there is real cheese in the mac & cheese. It just always seems that it cost a lot more than it should.
McAlistar’s Deli. I recommend this establishment for lunch. The food is always good. The service is good. Hard to get this one wrong, unless you order something you know you do not like.
I travel a lot, and this is consistently the best mcalister’s i visit…i pass the ones in byram and jackson to eat here
HoHum. New Orleans Muffuletta was adequate, the bread was barely warmed, not really toasted. Don’t order the artichoke spinach dip, whoever is preparing it clearly has never seen any before and the chips are stale.
Good but could be better. McAlister’s is what you would expect from a chain deli. Wide menu with lots to choose from besides sandwiches. One of the better salad selections in town. Soups are good, especially the Chicken Tortilla. However, I think the prices are high and the quality/consistency isn’t as important as is should be. I usually order the Greek Salad with Chicken, and it is sometimes strangely made with differing ingredients. Last week it contained a piece of plastic from a bag of some sort. My friend ordered a salad to-go that was supposed to be on a bed of tortilla chips but there were no chips. But others must not be complaining, because the place is usually packed for lunch. Staff is quick and courteous. Tipping is not allowed.
