Way over priced. We came in for the 4th of July to have dinner. We paid 74.59 for three hamburger plates, a plate of ribs, a hot dog and a chicken plate. it was ridiculous. The locals must love it or they don’t know any better. Tourists stay away…
Rude, rude, rude. The owner was extremely rude, confrontational and inhospitable. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
Yummy! And nice room overlooking the river, murals, and historic railroad station. Love the Irish cream cheese cake topped with Bailey’s!
I would take out of state guests here for a test of real MS. Insist on sitting on the indoor upstairs deck with a grand view of the RIVER and huge paddle wheel boat. In the shade of a old magnolia tree….we had the BBQ sliders with beans and slaw. This is excellent authentic food.
Horrible Service! Food not much better.. We went for dinner after the Christmas parade. When we got there, we were the only ones seated. We ordered drinks, appetizer and salads, which arrived fairly quickly. The salads were quite sad, obviously bagged lettuce. The dressing, strawberry vinigarette, store bought from a bottle and not even good. In the mean time, people were arriving for a private party in the back. Apparently, the food for the private party was more important than the orders we placed before they got there. We waited over an hour to get our entrees! We repeatedly asked our server to bring my son’s grilled cheese while we waited, but that didn’t happen. My dad even went to find the manager or owner, and we still couldn’t get a sandwich for my 2 year old. The server didn’t even offer crackers or anything. When the food finally came, the server had forgotten the grilled cheese in the kitchen. It was the last to arrive… The presentation of the food was aweful, it looked like what you might get at a cheap diner. My burger was okay, but the bun was too hard and crunchy. My husband said his burger was dry and not good at all. My dad ordered the shrimp, he enjoyed it. My mom had a cup of gumbo which she seemed happy with. Overall, a terrible experience and waste of money. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
Read the reviews before we came and glad we decided to try. Scenic location. Friendly, attentive service. Middle of the road menu. Home made cheese logs for appetizer: Fab!Fried shrimp poboy with hand cut fries: LovelyShrimp and crawfish Alfredo: Tasted good; but swimming in sauce. Would not order again. All in all, I would rate this place a solid 6/10. Would come again and try something different.
Needs a culinary intervention. Staff are generally lukewarm as is the temperature of the food. Do not expect a culinary delight in this place. The elevated charge of the food is not a reflection of the quality of the food or of the service; it is simply so that you can eat in an old building. Did I mention that I saw the waiter take out a bag of lettuce from the refrigerator near the bar to make our salad? In addition, we ordered Coke with our dinner. The waiter brought out a glass of ice and sat the can down in front of me. Ouch!
