Yummy but very very sweet. The doughnuts were delicious. Note: I’m from western PA and now northern IN, so my doughnut life experience is with something closer to Dunkin’ than Krispy Kreme. These are much closer to Krispy Kreme, in that they’re very light and fluffy and almost spongey, and EVERYTHING is glazed, including the cream-filled and strawberry-filled. For my taste, that’s a little too much sugar, but if that’s what you’re looking for, then you’ll love these. Had them warm in the morning and they were still pretty good the next evening after a day of riding around in the car.We also tried the kolache, which I’ve always known as breadlike-thing-filled-with-fruit, but these were filled with meat & cheese. The ham one was fantastic, like a much much better hot pocket kind of item. The sausage one was kind of hot-dog-ish and was not as much to my taste.

I miss Shipley’s!!. I moved from Vicksburg several years ago. We have all kinds of doughnut shops in my area….all the big chains (Dunkin, krispy kreme, etc)…but they are NOTHING on Shipley’s! Man, I wish they would build one near me! 🙂
Absolutely wonderful donuts. Krispy Kreme and Dunkin’ Donuts can go sit in a corner – hands down have never had a better donut than I’ve had at the Halls Ferry Road Shipley’s. Even cold, they’re great. Hot? They’re divine. Also like their filled donuts – the variety of fillings is very good (especially the Barvarian cream) and they aren’t cloyingly sweet – you get the taste of the filling and not just a mouthful of sugar.
The Best of the Best. I’ve been to alot of Shipley’s and they all, without a doubt, serve the best donut money can buy. However, there has to be a reigning champion of all the stores and in my opinion, this is the one. The best service, best coffee, best location, and most of all, the best donut. I think I said that already. Keep up the good work!
