CountryDiner. It appears to be that Charley’s Store may have changed hands. There was no sign either of Mennonites or of Mennonite influence (the Christmas lights were still attached to the edge of the front roof, except for the strand that hung down until it reached the ground). The menu may be unchanged, but the preparation is probably different. None of the meat dishes were very good. The oven-fried chicken was pretty bad. The rolls were good, but not wonderful. The desserts were pretty good. There was a great quantity of food, and it was cheap, but on balance the quality was a bit below Village Inn or Denny’s or Bob Evans.
