Good donuts but…. Ray’s Donuts used to be a franchise of Lamar’s Donuts. When they changed their name from Lamar’s to Ray’s, I asked them why they did it? They told me that it’s still Lamar’s Donuts but all the Lamar’s are changing their names to Ray’s which is the first name of the creator of Lamar’s Donut’s, Ray Lamar. This made no sense to me because you don’t change the name of a very successful business. I called Lamar’s Donuts headquarters and was told that the two St Louis stores weren’t paying their franchise fee and were told that they had to change their name. Bottom line, they got the knowhow from Lamar’s and then decided that they wanted to weasel out of their contract. Sadly, the donuts are good (better than Dunkin) but I can’t go to a place that has such low morals so I just don’t eat donuts very often.
