First Time Visit. Today was my first time visiting the Spot Cafe. I arrived about 10:25am and there was only one customer in the place. I sat in a hard wooden booth that made me wish I had sat in a chair at one of their tables instead. I was promptly greeted and ordered a small Biscuits and Gravy. The food was delivered to me almost instantly. The food was ok. I have definitely had better. I wished I had ordered something else, and did not completely finish my meal. Not bad food, just not my taste. I never complain at a restaurant, if I do not like something, I simply do not return. I would definitely go back to give them another chance with a different menu item. Service was friendly, I would recommend The Spot.
Since I moved here a year ago I have been hearing about the numerous breakfast joints in the south side area of St Jo. This is one of those places. The cafe that probably has been there forever. Locals seem to love it, a place to sit down have a crappy cup of coffee and read the paper. I had a large breakfast of eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, and toast. My buddies had the special, eggs and a huge bone in porkchop. Everything was awesome, oh and did I tell you each meal was 5 bucks?!?!? Hopefully the other hidden breakfast places will be as good and cheap.
