More than just cheesecake. I had my first visit here for lunch today. It’s a very nice, clean, comfortable space, nicely lit and lots of booth seating. They have a full fledged bakery with cookies, cupcakes, cheesecakes, etc. There’s also a breakfast menu and a deli-style sandwich selection, as well as salads. I tried the Oriental Chicken Salad which was about $9.00. Good, fresh, crisp lettuce and spinach with red peppers, cucumber, chicken and nuts in a tasty dressing. It was very good, but a bit smaller in portion that you might get at Panera, which is a reasonable comparison to this place. Also, on Monday, the coffee is free with your order, a nice touch. Everything in the bakery case looked wonderful. I’ll have to try a few of the other items on future visits, but I had a pretty favorable impression on this trip.

My Daddy’s have luscious desserts ranging from MANY varieties/sizes of their famous sold on QVC network cheesecake to my favorites like cupcakes, chocolate Florentines, and chocolate peanut butter truffles. I had been eying the mint chocolate brownie cheesecake on the website and it was everything I had hoped for and more! Large pieces of brownies enrobed in delicious, rich cheesecake with a lovely mint chocolate topping and chocolate crust. The food is standard, not extremely flavorful. We had biscuits & gravy and chicken corn chowder soup with chili soup and buffalo chicken sandwich (more like Oscar Meyer grocery bought luncheon meat). The b & g and ccc soup were bland–I had to douse them both with salt. Definitely going back for dessert, but I’d rather indulge elsewhere for dinner.

My Daddy’s – as the locals call it – has a great atmosphere and yummy pastries and cheesecakes. The sandwiches are very good too. I am not sure how it got the rating of 1$ because it is very expensive comparitively and the portions are small. Even the meat portion on your sandwich is very small. You are paying for the atmosphere. Coffee is very good. If you are into food portions and a hearty sandwich go elsewhere. If you want a good tasting modestly sized portion in a nice environment go here. The menu is pretty extensive – bistro like – with a lot of choices for everyone.
