I heard a lot of hype about this place, but unfortunately it did not live up to it. The brisket is a bit flavorless. The smokey taste was not there and the cut was thin. I also tried the pulled pork and it was very salty. It was so salty, in fact, that my wife did not finish her meal. The restaurant does have a friendly atmosphere and the staff was also friendly.
Great Place to Eat!!!. My family visited Carthage to check out the Precious Moments Attraction and we decided to eat at Boomer Sooners. I enjoyed the restaurant. The BBQ was good, the prices were affordable, and the service was outstanding. I had the brisket and pulled pork. They both were outstanding. I recommend the spicy BBQ sauce if you like a little kick in your food.

Not a fancy place. The brisquet was very good. The sliced chicken OK but no smoke taste. Fried okra good. Tater tots not so good. Service was friendly and fast. Nice change from the usual places along the interstate.
Can’t beat it!!. Even though I may be a little biased because I’m a Boomer Sooner myself, this has got to be one of the best barbecue places I’ve ever been to. I have yet to eat anything there that I didn’t like. The onion rings are the best I’ve ever had. Period. It is a little small place and they do have somewhat odd hours but I promise anyone it is worth the trip. You won’t be disappointed.

Decor is simple–but the BBQ is the real deal & the prices are reasonable. Try the brisket– sliced.
