It’s great to see Carthage get a coffee shop that has more than just black coffee. I do love the ol’ pancake houses that serve up black coffee, but sometimes you want something more. MRC is run by some of the nicest people and are always willing to make your experience the best.
I cannot say how much I love this place! The people are so kind and if that doesn’t keep you coming back, the coffee and desserts are out…of…this…world! I’m very picky about atmosphere and this place felt like home the first time I walked in. Comfy and cozy seating, jazz playing in the background and just the smells wafting through are enough for any caffeine addict. 🙂

An oasis in a coffee desert. While traveling route 66 from Tulsa, it became painfully apparent that good coffee is nowhere to be found, that is untill we visited Carthage, MO. Across from the courthouse was the best treat of the day – The Mother Road Coffee shop. Each drink easily exceeded the high coffee expectations of this Seattle family. We all left thankful that we had not found a starbucks, because we would have missed this wonderful experience. Great coffee, very friendly staff. It can’t be beat! Thanks.
So glad I stopped!. This small little coffee shop opened a month ago when I visited, and they’re already going strong. Driving down Route 66, very glad I noticed the shop. The owners are very friendly, and they know how to make excellant coffee. Also, you probably won’t find another coffee shop for hours past this one. Definately take the opportunity for some good coffee.
I had the best smoothie ever! Loved it and no sugar added! Yummy mango! Tasted the strawberry smoothie and it was great too!
