Valentine’s dinner and service were great – wonderful oysters, halibut, and beef Wellington!
Only being with good friends could make up for the disasterous New Year’s Eve meal at Bishop’s Post.. We made the mistake of choosing Bishop’s Post for our New Year’s Eve dinner. The only saving grace was the 2 couples we were with. An old fashioned served in a warm up glass, no ice needed? Shrimp bisque without any shrimp – none, in any of the three orders. Orders incomplete or wrong and half the table was served well before the rest of the table, 6 people in total.. Salad lacking dressing, not per request and a table next to us so loud we couldn’t carry on a conversation over their den. We should have been prepared; soon after we were seated, a coat rack, holding 6 coats, crashed to the floor next to us as It was an omen of things to come. Two in our party worked to try to put the coat rack back together. Where was the manager, one might ask? Good question. He did throw our coats over an empty chair but he didn’t address the crowd of revelers at the table next to us. They did try to make amends by offering the 6 of us 2 desserts. Yes, 2 for the 6 of us to share. Did I mention they had already bused the table and we had no utensils with which to eat the bite of dessert? They advertise classic comfort fare. The only thing classic was the classic terrible dining experience and the only comfort was when we left.
Manager needs to do his job. We dined there with two other couples for New Year’s Eve and the table next to us was so loud we could not even carry on a conversation. The shrimp bisque came without the shrimp and half the group had almost finished their food before, the rest of the table was served. The waiter apologized, but the manager was no where to be found. This was the first time we ate there and I am sure it is also our last.
Lunch at Bishop’s Pist. I eat lunch at Bishop’s Post one to two times per week. My great experience starts with a friendly, smiling, hostess, Darlene, and it gets better from there. The wait staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and very accomadating. I have watched the general manager, Brenna, interact with wait staff and customers and it is a pleasure to see someone that does their job so well and has the respect of all her staff..I will continue to have lunch and occassionly dinner and Chef Dave always makes each dish very delicious and his lunch specials are just that special! and Dave’s desserts are to die for!!
Pretty good food. Love the salmon dish. Some waiters seem inexperienced. The dessert wasn’t good. Didn’t like the blueberry bread pudding. Would be better if it was regular bread pudding with the fruit topping. It didn’t have the creamy sauce I expected to have. The brownie wasn’t warmed and wasn’t very good. Suggest a new recipe. I do love the atmosphere and outdoor patio is amazing. Wondering if there will be live music like they had when it was Oceano. That was awesome music.
Great restaurant. The food was exquisite and it is very modernized.
