Had a gift certificate so we decided to go for some upscale Italian without the trip to the Hill. Atmosphere ok but tables tight, could not hear companions conversation across the table. Ministrone sans beans had a meniscus of grease I could see from across the table. Toasted ravioli from the hill were nothing special. Caeser salad was bitter and tough and had 4 special crouton of approx 3/8 inch. Veal Parma was large and well prepared. Bread did not appear until the entrees. Had to ask for silver for entree as it had all been cleared with apps and salad. $80+ for 2 with no beverages. Not the upscale we were expecting, First Italian restaurant that I have been to that didnt come with side of pasta

Rude Manager MirandaFood and atmosphere was good. Unfortunately the management mishandled a situation at the table. Instead of apologizing for a simple error, manager Miranda became defensive and rude. When your dinner is about $200 you would not expect to be told off by manager Miranda

Food was good, wait staff inattentive. Long wait before waiter appeared. No table bread without asking. No drinks without asking. Strange waiter surely saw that my table was getting antsy waiting even though the restaurant was not very busy. Experience would have been better if the waiter paid attention to the most basic of service to us.

Was expecting a romantic night out- major fail. No private tables. Tables too close, high chairs everywhere, plastic menus, no table clothes, music way to loud, people in jeans?, view of front door and restroom…If you are looking for salad, pizza, or pasta this could be your place..seems that is what most people were having.

Redeemed themselves. For the second time I sat at the bar which only had 2 other diners, and was absolutely ignored by the staff. After close to 15 minutes I walked out. The manager was at the hostess stand, so I took a moment to complain. He could not have handled the situation any better. He escorted me back to bar and spoke privately with the bartender. I was immediately made to feel welcome. She apologized and gave me impeccable service. When the bill arrived my 2 glasses of wine had been paid for by the manager and the server apologized again, (absolutely unnecessary) and gave me a bag of cookies to take home. I am very impressed.

Went to Charlie Gitto’s in Chesterfield for the first time as part of a business holiday dinner (I’ve previously never been to a CG’s location). From top to bottom the food was very good. We had appetizers (Toasted Rav, Bruschetta Trio, and Calamari), entrees (Tortellini alla Panna, Eggplant Napolean), and dessert (Vanilla Bean Gelato with Espresso). Nothing but good things to say about all of the aforementioned, with the Eggplant Napolean stealing the show. They have a huge assortment of wines. The other five people in our party all enjoyed their entree and dessert as well. The portions are huge, every dish could easily be split between two people. Our server was very attentive, even with the craziness of everyone trying to sneak in what I suspect were other work-related holiday dinners. Give the large party sizes the place was extremely cramped, but after the place died down and tables were put back to their usual place it appears it would typically not be so tight. LOTS of noise, but the place was also at max capacity with the holidays, so again I assume it was a bit atypical. I would definitely recommend this place and will revisit at some point.
