As with most things in life there is a pro and con with this restaurant. The waitstaff is nice and they are on point. So that’s always nice. And the fish they use for the sushi is actually pretty fresh (for St. Louis). But they unfortunately don’t have a large menu selection and a majority of their sushi seemed to have cream cheese, which to me is a no-no in sushi. For a place to go eat this isn’t bad, yet I have no plans on going back nor do I foresee going back. You may enjoy the place so give it a try. As I said there are some good things about this place as well.

Nice Find. I just had a great lunch at Matane. I was actually looking for Yakuza and found that Matane had replaced it. I was reluctant to try the restaurant, but am glad I did. I ordered a sushi combo for lunch. I received free miso soup and a very tasty house salad with the meal. The sushi was good and came in one of those cool boat trays. I also got some free green tea ice cream. Delicious meal and very friendly server and chef!

This is a great local find!!!. High quality sushi and sashimi. Great service. Love it. the chief also owner was a head chief of the bigest sushi bar in st. louis.YES!!!! I can tell how good he is.try this new place.
