Ehhhh. From a cupcake lover… These taste like they aren’t baked, very odd, kind of like dough.
I’ve been a fan of Sarah’s for a long time. The cupcakes are moist, the frosting is light and creamy, and the flavors are bold and interesting. My favorites have been the odd ones: white chocolate raspberry cardamom and the cherry streusel crumble. I have yet to have a dessert here I did not enjoy. I just wish there was more room to queue in the shop, now that so many people have discovered them it gets crowded in the service area.
Super friendly staff and super delicious desserts!. I came in at about noon on a Monday with a weekly special in mind: The Samoa cupcake. It was my first visit, but I am no novice when it comes to cupcake appreciation. The cupcake description via their website: Caramel cake filled with ganache, topped with vanilla buttercream and a drizzle of caramel, chocolate and toasted coconut. The breakdown: The cupcake was not filled with any ganache, but it did have a fine crumb and was very moist. The buttercream tasted more like whipped cream frosting, and had a very light, marshmallow-y flavor. I prefer the firm texture of buttercream, but the frosting was delicious none the less. The chocolate and caramel drizzled over the toasted coconut provided the namesake’s classic appearance. I wonder if they ever top the cupcake with actual samoa cookies during GS cookie season! All in all, I’d rate this cupcake a 3.5 out of 5, due to the lack of ganache and the non-traditional buttercream. This cupcake was average-size [not like the half-pound $6 cupcakes at Jilly’s, this one was around $2.50]. The bakery itself is petite, but provides plenty of room for their beautiful wedding cake displays. Their refrigerated case holds most of their items besides the cupcakes, which are on a large glass-window display by the register. The two employees that were working when I was there [a young girl and woman] were both very friendly and helpful when it came to asking questions about different items. Definitely recommend! Check out the pictures I posted for the items I tried.
The Best. Very yummy!!!! I loved the icing. I will definitely be back to place another order soon. I also was impressed with the customer service (very accommodating).
Amazing. Ordered a yellow cake with buttercream frosting double layer cake with a custom Sonic the Hedgehog on it for my son’s 7th birthday. By FAR the best cake I have ever eaten. Frosting is something out of heaven. A PLUS ALL THE WAY!
Yummy!. Glitter bites are amazing! and of course, love the cupcakes on your truck!
