The Egg & I is very kid-friendly, has good sized portions of food, and decent service. I am a big fan of the Veggie Benedict!! My husband tends to like the hash (can’t remember the name). I’ve recently started ordering the Santa Fe Huevos because my son likes to eat off my plate and he loves black beans. I get it with the salsa, and mix it up together before I eat it. It is a great dish except for the tortilla which tastes store-bought and not fresh-made. We are returning customers because it is close, the food is good, and generally the wait isn’t too bad unless you go at peak times.
If you want non-dairy creamer with your coffee (eg Coffeemate) you won’t find it here. There’s even a supermarket next door, but they wouldn’t consider providing it to their patrons. I walked over to the supermarket and bought our own.Not good!!!
Third Time Not A Charm. We have tried The Egg & I Restaurant three times. While the food flavor is good and the quantity is overwhelmingly large, the overall attention to detail is lacking. We have had a different server each visit, so my guess is that the kitchen or expediting is the issue. On every visit there were multiple incorrect preparations of our food and missing items. We overheard the next table complaining about the same issue on our second and third visits. We did attempt to speak with the individual who we thought was acting as manager, but this person turned and walked away when we asked to speak with them at the reception desk. We really wanted to like it as it is so close to home, but I can’t eat anywhere that is not dependable to prepare the food correctly per the menu.Details:On visit 1 the SANTA FE HUEVOS* were brought out with diced fresh red bell peppers instead of green chillies. This was not even the other menu option of salsa.On visit 2 my toast was completely forgotten by the kitchen and then the server brought a muffin, instead of toast.On visit 3 the VERA CRUZ CHICKEN & AVOCADO OMELETTE was served without the avocados and I still received the English muffin, despite ordering toast. My family members orders had issues as well.
Love this place!!! So we have another option other then first watch!!! Food was delicious and our waitress made sure everything meet our needs… Love there fresh strawberry and banana waffle, eggs and bacon.
Very creative egg dishes and more. Went to egg and I for breakfast this morning before work. I was seated promptly and the service was fast. They have several different types of coffee to chose from and an extensive menu. I opted for the Eggs Santa Fee, it was listed as a featured item. It was very good. Easily enough for breakfast and lunch.
