Never again!. Came here with family after one of my wife’s friends suggested it. Service was slow and the waiter mildly interested in serving us. Ordered the food. Shrimps were small and did not taste fresh. The chicken was definitely off and tasted weird: I abandoned all efforts to stuff it in for fear of consequences in the toilet. Salsa and chips were okay. Bottomline: avoid this place given the wealth of Mexican restaurants in Columbia.

No thanks. Our food was good but covered in a strange cheese sauce. We had asked for hot sauce other than the mild they serve with the chips, to only find out later they charge us $1.29 for about a quarter cup full. A Mexican restaurant that charges for hot sauce, not my kind of place. What else do they charge extra for?

No thanks. Agave has pretty good Ameri-Mex food. Unfortunately, that is the only good thing about this place.Complaints: * The prices are WAY too high. Entrees averaged around $9, and the portions were about half of those typical of Ameri-Mex places. * The service was really bad. When my wife and I arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty, but we stood at the entrance for about two minutes while the waiters gave us stupid looks from their seats at the bar. As the meal progressed, they didn’t redeem themselves. After our waiter took our order, we didn’t see him again until he brought the check to us (someone else delivered our food).Bottom line: Don’t go here. La Siesta and El Jimador offer better service, quality, quantity, and prices.

A fav. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Columbia. The service is always good and friendly, the food is outstanding – never had a bad meal here at all. Some of the best margaritas around as well. Never miss an opprotunity to take friends there and introduce them to this wonderful place.

Usually good. We have been visiting Agave off and on for about 8 months. It is not the closest Mexican restaurant to our home, but we make the trip because the food is better than the Mexican restaurants that are closer to us.Generally speaking, we’ve had good experiences at Agave. One of my favorite menu items is Carnitas. Last night, I had the Quesadilla Agave, which was quite good. We also like the salsa. We visited Agave last night at around 6:15 or so. Our experience last evening was not as positive as our previous experiences. I would encourage the management to consider whether a group of drunken guests should be allowed to holler, scream, and swear loudly in the dining room, thereby disrupting other guests’ dining experiences. My husband and I could barely hear each other over their shouting and chanting. Guests were visibly disturbed by this group’s behavior. There were young children present who didn’t need to hear the swearing or observe that level of drunkenness. Management should have the right to ask disruptive individuals to leave. I also would encourage the management to consider whether people who arrive drunk should continue to be served alcohol. It appeared that the waitress who served this table was acquainted with this group, which led to the feeling that perhaps management and staff were complicit in the group’s drinking and their associated behavior. If management wants to cultivate an atmosphere that supports the type of behavior one might expect at a downtown bar after a football game, it is their prerogative; however, guests expecting a nice dinner out may not return.

Disappointing. We have been going to Agave about every two weeks since they have been open because we think the salsa is the best in town. We can get that kind of food at any mexican restaurant in town but the salsa is what keeps us coming back until Sunday. We ordered to carry out and ordered extra salsa and chips and was very disappointed on the salsa, it was horrible!!! It was like tomato paste with hardly any vegetables, like the stuff you buy in the store in the jar. So I called them and they said yes they have changed the salsa it has more of a tomato paste. So if that is the case we won’t be going back and eating that crap forsure. Hopefully everyone will complain and they will change it back to the fresh stuff they had before.

Worst place I have ever been to. I could not believe what happened at this restaurant. We called and said we had a party of 32 and were told that they did not take reservations and the back room was full but there might be room when we got there. The first two to arrive told them the rest were on the way and sat at a small table having drinks and chips and salsa. When the next 10 people came in with me the waitress said we can seat some of you here in the back room. (there was two tables that could seat 9 or 10 at each. We said great, thanks. As we reached the tables a man (presuming he was manager or owner) came out and asked me how many we had. I said 32 total. He immediatly said NO, NO we can not do that, we can not serve you, we can not serve 32, we are too busy and he walked out… I followed and said to him, wait we do not all have to sit together. He said NO NO we are too busy!! I have more people coming…Looking around the room I can see that they are only about 1/2 full. The waitress tried to tell him it was ok but he kept it up saying NO NO we will not serve them. I then was getting more mad by the minute said You mean you will not even serve us if we all sit at the small open tables you have here?? He said NO NO I will not serve you….We all turned for the door and left! I can not tell you how mad we were. Keep in mind that we arrived between 2 and 230 not exactly there busy time. I feel sorry for the waitresses because 32 adults who just left a college graduation wanting to eat and have a few drinks would have been big bucks for them as well as the restaurant. The restaurant across the street welcomed us with open arms and showed a big profit for the afternoon. I would not darken the Agave restaurant door ever!! They SUCK!! I am pretty sure we were discriminated against today do to the fact we were not mexican!!!
