Stop by because I have heard nice comments about the burgers….really!?? Burgers were okay but not worth saying someone needs to come and try. The service or I should say personalities are a little to be desired. I will not return.
So you’ve never been to Booches? Awww, that’s so sad. If you like historic places and simple breakfasts and hamburgers you are truly missing out on a Columbian favorite. Booches is downtown and looks like a tavern–which it is, and a billiard parlor to boot, but they make some mean burgers. The burgers are on the smallish size, and I think you need two to make a meal. They are bigger than a White Castle. Imagine three White Castles with a pickle, onion, cheese and little else. You can’t help but focus on the meat.They serve these delicious sandwiches on a small square of wax paper, directly from the grill to you. The grill is right at the bar near the window, just where you walk in. The cooking area is only 6′ x 2′ so there is only room to cook burgers. No fries at all. They serve good potato chips from Backer’s in Fulton, Mo just south of here. They also do a few breakfast items, a hot dog, chicken breast, but not much more.Besides the pool, snooker and billiard tables, they have a lot of Missouri sports paraphernalia on the wall. Of course lots of Mizzou pictures, St. Louis and Kansas City sports too, but they also have a photo of Hank Aaron when he was with the Milwaukee Braves. Seating is rudimentary at the bar or at a number of tables scattered at the front of the place. As others have said, this is cash only. This is a place you do not want to miss.
Awesome burgers. They taste so good that you nearly swollow them whole. the beer is good andnthe staff is awesome. did i say that the burgers remind me of moms cooking. can eat just one or two or 4. At 3 dollars a pop you walk away satisfied you stopped in.

Nothing fancy.. The food is good, but there’s a limited selection and it’s little overpriced. Service is alright and the waiters seem pretty jaded. Booches has been around forever and you can tell that it really hasn’t changed much- you can’t even use a debit card.
