Beautiful Diner, Food Needs Some Work. Diners like the Broadway Diner excite me. I have probably twenty different books describing diners across America. There is something so American about them. That and the fact that I am a breakfast fanatic made me want to try this place all the more. My friend says that you always have to wait to get a seat. Not a long wait but a wait. Today was no different. We had to wait about five minutes, but a spot all the way to the back, right next to the lone toilet was given to us. oh, yay. Let me get this our of the way. I was not too pleased with the food. I wanted French toast and there were no combos like with the omelets. I went the a la carte route and had the French toast with a side of ham. While the French toast itself was prepared like I like it, the syrup they had was cheap. It was like colored water with no sweetness whatsoever. The ham was salty and flavorful but was extremely dry as if it had been heated up over and over and over again. it was quite disappointing. A lot of people will disagree with my opinion and that’s okay. The counter was completely full up until the time we were finished and every table was full too. I wasn’t crazy about sitting right next to the unisex bathroom either. People were going in and out during the entire time that we were there. We could hear all of the eructations going on which was not pleasant. The diner itself is really something else though, and everyone should at least try it once if nothing else but to see it. Parking is available around the diner for patrons only. Lest I forget, service was really good. We were checked on constantly during our breakfast visit. Everyone here was very friendly.
The greasiest spoon you could ever hope to find. Everything in this place shines with grease… even the walls. If you’re looking for drunk or hungover food (or just geniunely appreciate a greasy spoon restaurant), give it a try. They’re really friendly and the food is alright.
Horrible waitress. Asked for a water and oj got the oj and waitress didn’t bring water. asked for water again. She said she’d bring it on the way by.She gave everyone drinks that came in after us first then only gave us one water when we were already done eating. Let’s just say she didn’t get a tip. She also didn’t bring the salsa or sour cream that came with the burrito. and after she took our order she didn’t say anything. super rude.
Best place to grab food late at night and excellent service.
This place is a Columbia landmark. Locals don’t eat at IHOP, they eat here. It’s been owned and run by the same local family since 1989. Consistently good hardy breakfast.
If you ever drunkenly stumble into this temple of culinary wonder be sure to order the bacon cheeseburger with an egg on top. It will literally change your life. The fries? Also to die for, add some ranch and you’re set. Service is quick and very friendly, cheap food definitely worth the price. Be sure to tip well!
