Not too (vegan) friendly. My wife has a severe dairy allergy so we thought we’d try this restaurant since it claimed to be vegan friendly. She is not a vegan but cannot consume even small amounts of dairy so vegan menus offer a safe route. After we arrived we notified our server of the allergy and she offered no real acknowledgement. My wife asked about the biscuits which we were informed contained dairy. Pancakes,…dairy. At the top of their menu they state that most dishes can be made vegan, however, this seemed far from the truth. Ultimately she settled on the Apples and Sausage. Our server delivered the meal, which looked like it had a butter sauce. The server failed to mention that after all of the issues we had trying to find a dairy-free meal. The server returned the dish, which was remade without the butter. Meanwhile, my dish sat in front of me for fifteen minutes getting exceedingly cold while we waited for the corrected dish. It should be stated that we have been to many restaurants that don’t have any vegan statements on their menus and manage to find delicious meals with the cooperation of our server. At Cafe Berlin, our server just didn’t care.
Poor Service. Seems like service staff would be happier if customers wouldn’t even come in. They act as if you are an inconvenience to them. Don’t bother going to this place.
Fresh/Quirky/Great! Had Sunday breakfast here. Delicious. Fresh squeezed carrot/apple/orange juice. Bloody Mary’s/Mimosas/beers. And very good, unique menu items. Highly recommended!
The food varies dish to dish, cook to cook. The service is the same, some of the worst and best service I have had. They are very good about altering dishes to be gluten free, and that’s why I give it an overall good review.
I had the Molly waffle (topped with pears, bleu cheese, honey and cinnamon) and it was amazing.
Awesomeness. Visting family in Columbia recently and we went here. What an awesome place. Captivating, cool and unique decor. Nice, friendly layout. Awesome food. I really liked their menu selection. I had the breakfast tacos which were INCREDIBLE. Also, very filling. Would definitely recommend. Will be coming back here the next time I’m in Columbia!!
Cafe Berlin. The food is really good and so so many options! They only have a kitchen and grill so big, and waiting hungry people, the regulars know that. I love the food and it is a busy place. Hang in there and you will be delighted with the food. My fav after eating a big hearty oatmeal bowl is a black bean cilantro rice burrito to go-yum yum.
